How to clean concrete ramps

Care should be taken to rinse and dry the concrete ramp thoroughly after cleaning to make sure that no soap residues remain that might turn the surface slippery if it gets into contact with water. Most mobility devices including the wheelchair have rubber wheels and brakes that might lose their grip on slippery surfaces resulting into fatal accidents. When cleaning the concrete ramp, avoid scouring agents as they might cause it to appear tarnished and might leave visible scratch marks on the tiles. Normally, a common floor mop and a brush would be fine.

If carpeted, always check for molds that thrive in moist conditions. Fumigate frequently to kill fungi and other bacteria that hide in tiny moist joints in the stone work. The same, if not cleaned out will eat into the joints of the stone work, weakening them with time. They also cause damage to the carpet. After washing, rinse, dry and leave exposed for so long that the air may dry it out completely. Vacuum clean the carpet to keep it dust free as much as possible. The number of times that one is supposed to clean a concrete ramp depends on the location. In any case, concrete ramps should be cleaned out with the rest of the house.
